Reading Difficulties and Dyslexia

This micro-credential evaluation is designed to determine whether the participant acquired the expected level of in-depth learning and skill development in identifying dyslexia and specific learning disabilities in reading (as per IDEA), differentiating reading difficulties from reading disabilities, and tailoring interventions to the individual’s unique skill and ability profile. Completion of this micro-credential demonstrates that the participant has the expected level of knowledge and skills in the following content areas:

  • Definition of dyslexia and other types of reading disabilities and differentiating reading disability subtypes
  • Methods and assessment tools used to identify dyslexia, reading difficulties, and other reading disabilities
  • Linking specific assessment findings to evidence-based interventions that are tailored to the individual’s unique needs

CAI Psychs

Comprehensive Assessment for Intervention (CAI) is an approved sponsor through the American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education for psychologists. CAI maintains responsibility for all programming and content.  Continuing education units earned from this program are accepted by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences for LEPs and by the National Association of School Psychologists for NCSPs.
